Touch Base With Your Peers With Nursing Continuing Education

by on Jan.03, 2012, under Education

You love your job. Your work as a school nurse has its perks. You work like any school employee and have the same vacation time. Snow days make you want to jump for joy like any of the school kids since it means that you do not have to wake up early for work. One of the drawbacks of not working at the hospital or at the medical field is isolation. You feel removed from the hustle and bustle of working in a hospital and you occasionally fear that you are losing your touch in handling cases that are more complicated than cough, colds, flu, and head lice. You sign up for regular nursing continuing education courses to fill your need of touching base with your peers and colleagues. Certain cases that are related to children are of primary importance. Being in charge of the health and well-being of hundreds of kids every day, you have to be fully aware of the health concerns that are related to every age group.

You may be a school nurse that handles a lot of the aches and pains of children and teenagers but you are also privy to the worries and concerns of the school staff. You gave advice on stress management because stress and the pressures of inspiring young minds take their toll. You want to take your education one step further by learning to meditate. You hope to teach what you know in the future and be a certified meditation instructor.
