Hey folks, Bobert here with an amazing edition of This Week@The Movies. We have two, count’em, two must-see Summer flicks this weekend. Not to mention a couple of smaller releases that look like could be worth seeking out. Enough of my blabbering, go beyond the break to see what the weekend has to offer on the Big Screen… (more…)

I would like to start this review by stating that I had no interest in seeing the fourth installment of the Terminator franchise, Terminator Salvation. However it would seem that my boredom and curiosity have gotten the best of me. Fans of the series have been clamoring for a movie set solely in the post-Judgment Day Human/Machine War ever since such scenes were glimpsed in the original Terminator. My question to these fans is this: Are you happy now? Granted what we see is bleak, certainly post-apocalyptic, and most of all full of action and a multitude of Terminators, which is certainly what you would expect from this movie. Go beyond the break to see what I found but didn’t expect (besides dropping $10.25 on this flick)… (more…)
I’ve never been a fan of those bizarre niche titles that are so prevalent on the Playstation 2. The Personas, Disgaeas, and Atelier Iris’ of the world didn’t immediately speak to me and so I never gave them a chance, yet I now fear that I may have missed out on a lot of quality games in the past ten or so years. My introduction to the vast library of niche JRPG titles for the PS2 came in the form of Ar Tonelico 2 from NIS America and I feel like I have seen the light. Ar Tonelico 2 is the most unique, fun, and engrossing role playing game that I have played in years. Perhaps I have been spoiled by the pretty graphics and advanced technology of current-gen Western developed RPGs, but once I sunk my teeth into this ugly game I fell in love with a genre I never thought I would. Go beyond the break to find out why… (more…)

I wish I could bitch more about Hollywood this week, but my Dad had a heart attack and my mind is elsewhere. But here’s what I got. Go beyond the break to check it out… (more…)

I know it’s hard to get away from the great gaming that is available right now, but you can’t let the gaming stop you from your addiction to Flixnjoystix.com right? It’s trailer time again and you know how I like to change things up a bit from time to time and this week is no different. This time you’re getting a double dose of trailer trash because there are two garbage trailers you just gotta see… (more…)

Howdy folks, Bobert here with the triumphant return of the Weekend Wrap Up! I’m sure you’ve all been wondering where it’s been the past two weeks. Well my friends, the Podcast hosting site we were using decided to take a dump for an entire week and a half. But now its finally back up and The FnJ Podcast is back in business. Needless to say, we’re in the market for a new hosting site. But enough woes, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. We’ll start off with podcast that was recorded over a week ago. Tsuj, Metaldy, McJeffrey, and myself discussed the usual topics of Game News Bytes (PS3 Slim!), Movie News Reel (CLIFFHANGER remake!), The Box Office Space, Game+Watch (BATTLESTATION: PACIFIC!), New Release Tuesday (TAKEN!), and This Week@The Movies (ANGELS & DEMONS!). But we also went over the rumored BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL 2 trailer, the movies that most influenced us, and the Video Game franchises that are dead, dying, or should die. So join us for that and more on the 7th epic episode of the Weekend Wrap Up! Remember to subscribe on the iTunes Store and leaves us a review!

It’s a special week for game releases during this, the last week of May. The much anticipated release of InFamous from Sucker Punch releases this week and has all the makings of an early contender for game of the year. While InFamous should be a no-brainer purchase, now is the time when gamers need to start pinching pennies since the coming month is chock full of triple a releases. I fear that a number of quality titles are going to slip under the radar this summer. Fuel for instance is an innovative new racer from Codemasters originally slated to come out this week but was pushed back to next week, the week of E3. Not only is next week a bit busy for most of the gaming industry, myself included, but The Sims 3 comes out next week, and being sandwiched between InFamous and Prototype can’t be good for your sales numbers. Hopefully things will slow down in the late summer months and we will all be able to revisit the big summer releases that we may have missed. Just something to keep in mind, and with that out of the way, here is what you need to be playing during the last week of May… (more…)
